This package is a total combination of cultural immersion and authentic Italian experiences. We start with our journey back in time with a guided walk back into ancient Rome through the Roman Forum, in the Colosseum and Pantheon then on to modern times to walk through the famous Piazzas such as the Piazza Spgagna and Navona. Here you can sit back and enjoy an Italian geloato or espresso. The next day you be guided through the wonders of St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums with some free time for shopping. Our last day in Rome you will head to nearby Tivoli and be guided through the impressive Hadrian's Villa. We move southward from Rome to an overlooked hidden jem area of Italy that is rich in history and culture... the Ciociaria. Here you will to taste the wines of the region and learn to make special food dinners while staying at a spa and wellness hotel in the town of Fiuggi, famous for the healing powers of its waters. Then you'll be off to the amazing Sorrento, Positano, and Island of Capri. This package offers an unique active Italian experience filled with history, museums, food & wine and relaxing.

Day to Day Highlights

Day 0: Overnight flight to Italy

Day 1: Welcome to Italy: Rome

• Arrive in Rome Fiumicino Airport and meet an Active Italy representative outside the baggage claim area then be transferred to the hotel by private mini-van.
• You may choose to rest and recover from your flight or go on leisure walking tour of Piazza Navona, Piazza Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza di Spagna, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.• Welcome Dinner.

Day 2: Rome

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast to start the day.
• Walk alongside a professional guide for a private tour of the Colosseum and the heart of religious, political and social life in the ancient Rome.The Roman Forum was the main marketplace and business center. You’ll walk on the Via Sacra, and relive a day in the ancient Rome. You’ll see buildings like the Curia Julia, the House of the Vestals or triumphal arches and important temples. You’ll discover the Palatine: the place where according to the legend Rome was founded by Romulus in the 753 B.C. Imperial palaces were later built here so that the word Palatine came to be synonymous with “the palace of the emperor”. Then you’ll go inside the Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, the symbol of Rome.

Day 3: Rome/Vatican City

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Transfer by private mini-van to Vatican City
• Morning guided tour of Vatican City including entrances to the Vatican Museum Rooms. and Sistine Chapel. Enjoy an amazing private Vatican tour in one of the largest museums in the world. Vatican Museums contain some of the world’s greatest art treasures. During this walk you’ll see the Pio Clementino Museum with its amazing Octagonal Courtyard, the Gallery of the Candelabras, the Gallery of the Tapestries, the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, the “Stanze” decorated by Raphael and the Michelangelo’ s Sistine Chapel. Then you’ll be inside the St Peter’s Basilica, the most imposing church of Christendom.

Day 4: Rome/Fiuggi

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• In the morning be driven to the Spa Hotel in Fiuggi where you’ll be staying for the next couple days. Take advantage of the heated pools and all the other amenitites of the spa. With its collection of pools, hot tubs and treatment facilities.
• You’ll be able to indulge in the amazing services of the spa including massages, beauty treatments and much more at your own leisure.
• WIne tasting of local wines before dinner
• Dinner at the hotel

Day 5: Fiuggi

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Today you will visit Fumone and Anagni with lunch at a local farmhouse.
• Free time at your own leisure in the late afternoon to take advantage of the spa.
• Dinner at Hotel

Day 6: Fiuggi/Sorrento

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Depart for Sorrento with a stop in Montecassino.
• Visit a lemon farm and see how limoncello is made and tastes! Lunch at local farmhouse.
• Walk a portion of the Path of Gods for a chance to view the Amalfi Coast from above.
• Dinner in Sorrento
