Start off in Rome for this week-long journey where you'll be guided through Ancient and Modern Rome. Then you'll head to Sorrento for an ultimate Italian coastal and island experience. On the way to Sorrento you will visit a Lemon grove famous for the Sorrento Limoncello where you will get to see how limoncello is made and of course have a taste. The tasting will be followed by a hands-on cooking lesson on a typical dish of the area. The next day you'll be taken by boat to the beautiful island of Capri to stroll the town and on the way see up close the famous Faraglioni - three towering rock formations off the coast the island, and the Blue Grotto. The next day you will enjoy a boat ride along the Amalfi Coast with stops in Positano and Amalfi.

Day 0: Overnight Flight to Italy

Day 1: Welcome to Italy - Rome

• Arrive in Rome Fiumicino Airport and meet an Active Italy representative outside the baggage claim area then be transferred your hotel.
• You may choose to rest and recover from your flight or decide to take easy guided walking tour of city center.
• Welcome Dinner.

Day 2: Rome

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast to start the day.
• Walk alongside a professional guide for a private tour of the Colosseum and the heart of religious, political and social life in the ancient Rome.The Roman Forum was the main marketplace and business center. You’ll walk on the Via Sacra, and relive a day in the ancient Rome. You’ll see buildings like the Curia Julia, the House of the Vestals or triumphal arches and important temples. You’ll discover the Palatine: the place where according to the legend Rome was founded by Romulus in the 753 B.C. Imperial palaces were later built here so that the word Palatine came to be synonymous with “the palace of the emperor”. Then you’ll go inside the Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheater, the symbol of Rome.
• Continue on with the walking tour of Piazza Navona, Piazza Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza di Spagna, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.
• Evening at your leisure.

Day 3: Rome/Vatican City

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast to start the day.
• Transfer by private mini-van to Vatican City
• Morning guided tour of Vatican City including entrances to the Vatican Museum Rooms. and Sistine Chapel. Enjoy an amazing private Vatican tour in one of the largest museums in the world. Vatican Museums contain some of the world’s greatest art treasures. During this walk you’ll see the Pio Clementino Museum with its amazing Octagonal Courtyard, the Gallery of the Candelabras, the Gallery of the Tapestries, the Gallery of the Geographical Maps, the “Stanze” decorated by Raphael and the Michelangelo’ s Sistine Chapel. Then you’ll be inside the St Peter’s Basilica, the most imposing church of Christendom.
• Evening at your leisure.

Day 4: Rome/Sorrento/Path of Gods

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Depart Rome for Sorrento.
• Visit a lemon farm and see how limoncello is made and tastes! Lunch at local farmhouse.
• Walk a portion of the Path of Gods for a chance to view the Amalfi Coast from above.
• Dinner at hotel

Day 5: Sorrento/Island of Capri

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Day excursion by boat to the Island of Capri.
• Evening at your own leisure.

Day 6: Sorrento/Positano/Amalfi

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Excursion by boat to visit Positano and Amalfi.
• Evening at your own leisure.

Day 7: Ischia

• Enjoy a buffet breakfast
• Today you will be picked up by boat and taken to the Island of Ischia. Ischia is famous for its thermal baths and you will spend the afternoon at seaside thermal bath resort.
• Farewell Dinner.
